EPIC Theatres is Growing in Florida

Regional theatre chain EPIC Theatres is expanding significantly in its native Florida.

Under the guidance of an experienced management team comprised of third generation exhibitors whose family built its first theatre in 1947, the DeLand-based circuit will almost quadruple its size to 101 screens by next year.

Among the projects currently under development is a trio of 16-screeners in St. Augustine, Deltona, and the Orlando suburb of Clermont as well as a 14-plex in Palm Coast.

All EPIC developments are slated to anchor major mixed-use projects in their respective markets.

All new EPIC theatres will feature stadium-style seating with Dolby Digital sound. Select theatres will feature digital projection, digital preshow programs, gourmet refreshments, private screening rooms and party rooms.

In addition to its Sunshine State projects, EPIC recently opened a 12-plex in Hendersonville, NC.
